FIBARK stands for First in boating on the Arkansas, and is also one of the oldest whitewater river competitions in America. River champions from around the globe participate in America's oldest river competition. The festival has evolved and expanded with the advancement of the equipment, and is thrilling to watch. The most well attended race at Fibark is a local one in which any home made craft may enter. The HOOLIGAN RACE is a fan favorite and a must see. Participants may enter "anything that floats" and often dress in costume and elaborately decorate their "boats". The second craft to pass the bridge wins, as "control" of your craft is now rewarded in the Hooligan race.

To top it off, the town puts on an impressive fireworks display that rivals any show, anywhere. It is a sight to behold.
